Strangely, we continue wearing narrow shoes that smash our toes. Can you imagine wearing gloves that bind your fingers together? Why, then, do we do that to our toes? It’s almost as if we pretend our feet aren’t necessary. When we understand how critical our natural foot function is to the rest of our body, we are more likely to opt for a wider toe box.
Wider shoe width is still different from foot-shaped shoes. Although a wider toe box is better, it sometimes tapers at the end, impairing your big toe’s movement. We know this can be confusing as foot-shaped shoes aren’t yet the most popular ones in the shoe industry.
